Who are we?

We are a local community club that seeks to represent gymnastics at all levels.

Twistarz Gymnastics Academy boasts gymnasts stepping into the gym for the first time, all the way to those training for international competitions.

Our culture at the academy is of utmost importance to us. We are a family here at Twistarz. That means that we look after each other. We treat each other with respect and kindness. We encourage each other and celebrate each other’s successes. We support each other when we are down. Sarcasm, bullying, and verbal or emotional abuse will not be tolerated. We follow the rules because they keep our gym family safe.

Getting started

We need a few things to get you started here at Twistarz Gymnastics Academy. 

1. Login to your Twistarz account: You’ll find our Parent Portal where you’ll be prompted to create or login to an account. The code to enter on the first page is Twistarzgym. This enables us to invoice and email you about important club events. Our club policies are also located here. Please take the time to read them and familiarise yourself with our club.
2. Protection Policy and Code of Conduct: The academy is committed to the safety of all our gymnasts, so it’s important that everyone agrees to do the right thing. All gymnasts and parents/guardians need to sign the code of conduct before gymnasts are permitted to participate in our classes.  You may view and sign the code of conduct in the Parent Portal.
3. Spotting: As part of learning gymnastics, it is sometimes necessary to use a technique called Spotting. Spotting is where we physically help your child when they are learning a new gymnastics skill. To ensure we are meeting safe spotting requirements outlined by Gymnastics Australia's policies, we will be educating all our gymnasts on safe spotting each term. 
4. Photography and social media: From time to time, our coaches will take photographs or videos of our gymnasts. These are used for training and assessment purposes by coaches and gymnasts. They may also be sent to parents to show a new skill their gymnast has acquired. We also upload photographs and videos to our Twistarz Gymnastics Academy website and social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram. If you would prefer us not to post images of your gymnast, please let us know via the Parent Portal.  
5. Fees:  Twistarz operates under the “pay before you play” system. We are a small business, and when fees are paid on time, it enables us to pay our fabulous coaches and do the right thing by our suppliers – in short, the whole community benefits! We recommend direct debit for gym fees which is set up via the parent portal. We also have EFTPOS available at reception if this is easier.  
   1. All Kindergym and Recreational gymnastics: Classes are billed by monthly. Invoices will be emailed two weeks prior to the due date. Fees paid after the due date will incur a late fee of $15. So if you pay on time, you benefit. To avoid the late fee being applied to your invoices payments must made in full before the invoice due date. Please note that classes fill quickly in these age groups, so it really is a case of the early bird getting the worm!
   2. Development Squad and Competitive Teams: Fees are billed monthly and are invoiced the 1st of each month. Fees must be paid before the due date or you will incur a flat $15  late fee. 

Uniform: Kindergym and recreational gymnasts are not required to wear uniforms. Fitted shorts (like bike shorts) that allow a full range of movement and a fitted tank/crop top/tee are good options. Clothes with zippers and buttons are not recommended as they will be uncomfortable in some positions. Hair must be pulled back from the face.  Jewellery and shoes must be removed before class.

If your gymnast would like to purchase a Twistarz rec team shirt (not required), these can be ordered from the GMD uniform shop. Competitive team members, Dev, Junior and Senior, are required to have full kit for competition. Please see your coach for details.

Class schedule: Your coach will discuss the recommended classes for your gymnast, and we will provide you with a timetable. Places in our Kindergym and recreational classes are booked by the term. Places in our Developmental Squads or Competitive Teams are booked by the month.

Communication: We value open communication with our Twistarz families. If there’s anything we can help with, please don’t hesitate to ask. Your child’s coach will usually be available to answer quick questions after class. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a confidential discussion, please come to the front desk, and we will book a time for you to sit down with a staff member for a chat.

Twistarz offers a free trial in all our classes. All you have to do is contact us so we can book you in or register in our Parent Portal! You are able to book your free trial for any recreational class that has availability. If you have trouble doing this, do not despair, just contact us and we can find a suitable trial class for you. 

After your child has trialled we will add them to the class most suited to them and you will be sent an email and an invoice. If you do not wish to continue with gymnastics, please reply to this email and we will remove the invoice. 

You will be invoiced your Annual Membership invoice in December for the following year. This is due upon receipt. Your child will not be able to attend classes in the New Year unless this membership invoice has been paid. 

For all gymnasts, fees are invoiced on the 15th of every month for the following month. These are due on or prior to the 1st of the Month.  

Our classes continue year-around except for the holiday periods specified below. We bill monthly. 

Holidays

Twistarz Gym will close from 21st December 2024 until 1st January 2025 and classes will resume in the New Year from the 2nd January 2025. 

Closed all Public Holidays.

Club Membership Fees are as follows:             

Competitive    $250.00

Recreational & Aerial  $180.00

These fees are compulsory for all gymnasts who join one of our classes whether casual or regularly. This includes club membership, and registration with GA & GQ and Insurance

They don't apply to our Holiday Programs.

All our members are billed monthly unless on a casual membership or Punch pass. 

If you are on a payment plan or if you make partial payment all payments will be applied to the oldest invoices first.  If you have not completed all payments for the month - your child will dropped from classes until full payment has been received. 

Sibling discounts do not apply to Affiliation/Membership fees, uniform fees, aerial classes or competition fees. 

Sibling discounts apply to multiple children from the same family on their class registration fees only. All discounts are applied to the lowest priced program regardless of age. Fees are calculated at the start of the term and any adjustments made to hours or membership will be calculated at the start of the following term.

• 4th Child - 20% discount
• 5th Child - 30% discount

Competitive Programs

• 1st Child - Full Fees
• 2nd Child - 10% discount
• 3rd Child - 20% discount
• 4th Child - 30% discount
• 5th Child - 40% discount

To enable us to timetable staff and offer gymnastics classes for all members each term, fees must be paid in full and your child's space will be secured for the full month. 

If you are going on holidays for part of the month we can put your account on hold for a minimum of 2 weeks in one instance and a maximum of 4 weeks during the year. This must be approved by management prior to the term starting. If you wish to request this please email info@twistarzgym.com.au

If your child is unwell or you are unable to attend a session we do offer make-up lessons for our Recreational Programs only.  Absences can be registered in the APP and then this will automatically generate a makeup token in your account. 

You will be able to use these tokens in another class but this is dependant on space being available. 

Due to the nature of our Competitive Programs we cannot offer make-ups or refunds for missed lessons in our Competitive Programs. 

If your child has been assessed as ready to  graduate out of their current class to move them to a more advanced class we will email you or speak to you after class. 

All other members remain in their current classes unless due to staffing or space requirements we need to move class days or times.

If you are not returning next year or wish to withdraw please let the office know as soon as you can as there may be people on the waitlist for your child’s spot in that class. 

A one month notice period is required to be paid for all Competitive Team cancellations. Club transfers take up to 30 days and are done in accordance with the technical regulations. 

We don't refund fees for recreational programs, instead make-up classes are offered for missed classes.
